Cast & Creative
Originally from Fulking, Sussex, Marjorie started rigorous training at an early age, at the Doris Isaacs School of Dancing in Brighton, leading to roles as a child actor in several classic British films, including “Is Your Honeymoon Really Necessary?” with Diana Dors, “Aunt Clara” with Margaret Rutherford, and “The Belles Of St Trinians” with Alistair Sim & Joyce Grenfell.
Hollywood called and the entire family moved to Los Angeles where, after several lean years, she landed the role of Patty in the long running daytime TV soap “Our Seven Daughters” for NBC. A stalwart of Manhattan Beach Dinner Theatre, under the Artistic Directorship of her late husband Arty Spelling, Marjorie played a whole gamut of leading roles, including Hedda Gabler, Joan Of Arc, Ophelia & Maria Von Trapp.
In the late 70’s she had great success with her One Woman Show – “Life is Like a Bubble in Our Glasses – the forgotten songs of Rudolph Friml”, which played several acclaimed seasons at Las Vegas Little Theatre.
Marjorie is delighted that Adam Speigel has lured her out of retirement for this wonderful production.
