Lee Proud

Choreographer

Lee is a freelance choreographer and is based in London. Prior to being freelance, Lee was the resident choreographer of the hit West End show – Billy Elliot the Musical. An original cast member (you can hear Lee tapping on the original cast album!) he became resident choreographer in London after assisting on the Sydney production of the show. It was in this capacity that he was taken to America to cast the adults for Billy Elliot on Broadway which saw him taking auditions in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. He then spent two months in New York assisting on the original Broadway production.

Lee began his career as a performer and during this time he appeared in many West End Shows, tours, on TV and in music videos. He even had a recording contract and co wrote and produced his debut album alongside opening shows for David Bowie, Midge Ure, Paul Young and Lindisfarne! As a choreographer, he has worked on everything from big budget West End musicals to small scale plays. From the London Fringe to Broadway.  His career has taken him most recently to New York, Sydney, Tokyo, Melbourne, Los Angeles, Chicago, Iceland, Scandinavia and all over the U.K.
