Andrew Hilton

Musical Supervisor & Director

Andrew studied conducting and musical direction at the University of East Anglia, Norwich.  His recent credits include Singin’ In The Rain, Sister Act, Hairspray, Disney’s High School Musical 2 (UK Tours), Mel Brooks’ The Producers (Admiralspalast, Berlin) Monty Python’s Spamalot (Palace Theatre, West End)  and the London premiere of Disney’s High School Musical (Hammersmith Apollo). Other credits include the UK tour of The Producers with Peter Kay and Joe Pasquale, and Hello Dolly (Lincoln Theatre Royal) with Anita Dobson. He was alternate Musical Director of Dancing in the Streets in the West End (Cambridge, Aldwych and Playhouse) and Musical Supervisor for I Do! I Do! (Vienna English Theatre) and Closer Than Ever (Erin Arts Centre).

He was also Musical Director on a 350-date European tour of The Rocky Horror Show and the new Palladium-orchestration of Oliver at Aberystwyth Arts Centre. Other credits include Applause, Into The Woods and Big Top (Bridewell) Annie (Lincoln Theatre Royal), Personals (Jermyn St), Elvis – The Musical (CMC), Sweet Charity (Stratford Circus) and Newley (Tristan Bates).

He was Musical Supervisor of the English Theatre Frankfurt where his productions include new arrangements and productions of Hair, Rent and Cabaret. He often conducts on the Isle of Man where shows include Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Cats, Evita, Oliver, Beauty and the Beast, Tommy, Oliver, Sister Act, Wizard of Oz and The Witches of Eastwick at the Gaiety Theatre. Other MD credits include Spend, Spend, Spend and They’re Playing Our Song (both English Theatre Frankfurt), Peter Pan, Cinderella, Dick Whittington (all Theatre Royal Norwich),  Cinderella, Aladdin (Liverpool Empire) and SS Emerald/MV Bilbao (cruiseships). As assistant musical director other shows include Aladdin, Cinderella, Dick Whittington, Jack and the Beanstalk, Oh! What a Lovely War! and Treasure Island (all at Theatre Royal Norwich). He is regular MD and Vocal Coach at London School of Musical Theatre. He is delighted to be working on his favourite musical, The Producers, for a third time!
